Still Celebrating Cheryl's Birthday

Blanche & Lucy relaxing on the back deck of our house - went to the Beauty Parlor today to get all pretty - even with bows - toenail polish & sparkles on their noses - as you can see Blanche is a bit mortified with the sparkles.
New England weather changes often - we had to put the top up on the 'Tomato' today because it was raining.

What to do on a rainy day in Newburyport -
Go out for Martinis!
Cheryl's sister Cindy and Paul helped us celebrate Cheryl's birthday again.

We went out to Ristorante Molise in Amesbury - our favorite Italian place.  I had Pasta Antonietta - a Shrimp & Scallop delight - a yummy house specialty.
Cheryl had Chicken Libera (her favorite for years) - Paul had Chicken Picatta and Cindy had Swordfish - all loved their dishes.
If this looks a little fuzzy - IT IS - after martinis and a bottle of wine this is how the world looks with no glasses!

Cheryl got a free desert because it was her birthday - an amazing chocolate cake with a warm 'creme englaise' center.

Another evening we went to the 'old neighborhood' where we used to live to visit with old friends who were having a 'Block Party'.
Mimi and Wilbur hung beautiful lanterns from their house to the house across the street.
Paul & Cindy played - Bean Bag Toss Game - each player throws a bean bag across the way to other players who also have a board with a hole in it - sort of like a safe game of horshoes - same rules apply.

You may have to double click to see - Blanche and Lucy sitting on a cushioned chair watching the BeanBag games.

They had a great little fire pit going for all to gather around.
Another of our favorite places to dine in Newburyport is Michael's Harborside Restaurant - it's right on the waterfront and a perfect place to watch the sunset and enjoy the view.

Cheryl and her sister Cindy enjoy a cocktail on Michael's deck.
Michael's alaways has a party atmosphere going on - today we had a Reggae Band playing for our enjoyment.
We met a cute couple who said they wanted to hang out with us - cuz we seemed to be fun gals (ha-ha).

Plenty of bottled and tap beer to choose from on the deck.

But we decided - even though it was overcast - sitting by the waterfront called for a cool 'Seabreeze'.

The sun came out just in time for us to enjoy a beautiful glowing sunset.

The boats glow with the end of day light.
After the sun went down we wend indoors to the restaurant to enjoy a great meal.....Michael's is known for their great 'Steak Tips' but I had the 'Lobster Pie' which had so much I took half home for lunch for the next day.
