Blanche & Lucy are having a wonderful visit with friends in Canada

This week we are visiting our good friends Judy & Marlene who live just outside of Rocky Mountain House - west of Calgary in the Province of Alberta.

The girls were very generous in allowing us to camp in their driveway for a little rest and relaxing visit... their area is very quiet and serene a perfect place to take a rest from all the sightseeing and playing that we've been doing.

This is their beautiful barn a 1905 barn which they restored beautifully and now houses their workshops and an upstairs apartment. Our RV is peeking out from the side where we camped for our visit.

Judy and Marlene have 3 beautiful Tennessee Walker horses that came to say good evening to us each night and good morning to us each morning. Beautiful and friendly gals like their owners. I am going to try to get some good photos of these little gals later this week.

When it was time for supper we all tried to pitch in with food and work - we did the Huckberry BBQ Chicken on the barbie this evening- Cheryl is the barbie queen.

Flo pitched in with cooking the mushrooms, while Marlene made the salad by the sink.

We ate our dinners 'Family Style' in their cozy kitchen.

Cheryl took a ride with Judy and Marlene on their "Green Machine"

Our hostesses have been gracious and kind in sharing their space and we are so grateful for the time to kick back and totally relax here.

Full Moon over Arizona

8:15pm we started to see a glimmer of the glow of the moon

As the full moon crested the Superstition Mountains a plane zipped by.

As the Moon continued to rise cars drove through the photos leaving streaks and spots

At it's fullest one of our cameras was able to capture the moon in all its glory and craters.

It was a wonderful night to view the full moon - temps were just right.

Photographing the Super Moon - Sat. March 19, 2011

The Glow of the upcoming Moon started around 7:45pm
Our vantage point was at the top of Lost Dutchman Av. here in Apache Junction, AZ.
As the Moon neared the crest the sky glowed brighter
As the Moon peeked over the Superstition Mountains a plane zipped across the sky.
Strange lights and glows happened all around the scene.
This is the closest view I could get with my big Nikon D300.
Our little Cannon PowerShot SX30 got a closer look -it has a 34x zoom which is like shooting with a 850mm lens
Each shot was better than the one before
It felt like we could see each crater on the Moon's surface
All in all it was a fun and magical night.
